Abstract

The authors described a case of flaccid paraplegia with loss of tendon reflexes that developed during tuberculous pachymeningitis of the cervical spine, which was established by pathological and anatomical autopsy.

As a clinical feature of this case, it should be noted that flaccid paraplegia developed extremely quickly, apoplectiformly, within 36 hours; already on the next day after the patient felt weakness in the legs, complete paralysis of the legs occurred with the absence of tendon reflexes, sensitivity disorder in the form of anesthesia and disorder of the pelvic organs. Reflexes did not recover until the death of the patient, which occurred after 5 months.
