Abstract

In the last decade, there has been an increase in the number of brain injuries, with a significant increase in the number of severe skull and brain injuries. A large proportion of victims with these injuries are still treated in general surgery and trauma hospitals, where it is very difficult to provide the necessary volume and quality of specialised neurotrauma care.
