As a result, the practice of treating epidemic hepatitis to date has been largely empirical. A large number of different recommendations have been published, often diametrically opposite. The methods of treatment, highly effective according to some authors, turned out to be completely ineffective and even dangerous in the observations of others (for example, the use of methionine, Sherlock, 1958; AF Bilibin, 1962).
