On the colonic mucosal barrier in patients with nonspecific ulcerative colitis
Despite numerous studies, the etiology and pathonemesis of nonspecific ulcerative colitis have not yet been definitively elucidated. The main hypothesis explaining the occurrence of this disease is considered to be immunological. However, it has been repeatedly suggested that the state of protective mucosal barrier plays a certain role in its pathogenesis.
