Ultrasound examination of the liver and biliary tract in diabetic patients

The prevalence of liver and biliary tract lesions in diabetes mellitus is quite high. According to various authors, the so-called diabetic hepatopathy develops in 60-80% of patients. Biliary tract diseases in diabetes and in the general population occur with equal frequency.
