Abstract

Currently, the attention of researchers is attracted by fibronectin protein, which is present in all human organs, tissues and biological fluids, performing adhesive and opsonic functions. Fibronectin is most closely related to the liver: firstly, liver cells - hepatocytes - are the main site of blood fibronectin synthesis; secondly, numerous experimental and clinical studies have revealed a direct functional relationship between fibronectin levels and the uptake capacity of RES, in particular the relationship with the function of endothelial kupffer cells.
