On the pathogenesis and treatment of psoriatic erythroderma
Exfoliative, or exfoliating, erythroderma is usually called dermatoses of various nature, characterized by the following clinical features: duration of the course, generalized bright redness of the skin, accompanied by abundant peeling, or pityriasis nature, or taking the form of small and large plates of various shapes. These clinical features do not represent something constant, unchanging in their intensity. On the contrary, the clinical symptom complex can vary within wide limits, which gave the French authors a reason to consider erythroderma as a disease that occupies some intermediate place between erythema and erythematosquamous dermatoses.
