The effect of chlorpromazine on labor in late pregnancy toxicosis

Abstract

Aminazine in recent years has become quite widely and with a significant therapeutic effect in the treatment of late toxicosis of pregnancy. In normal childbirth, chlorpromazine does not have a significant effect on labor, as evidenced by numerous data from foreign authors [2, 6, 7, etc.], who used it for pain relief during labor. There are conflicting observations about the effect of chlorpromazine on labor in late pregnancy toxicosis. Most authors [1, 3, 6, etc.] indicate that chlorpromazine does not significantly affect the course of labor, however, opposite opinions have also been published.
