The use of nitroglycerin to assess the state of the coronary circulation

Abstract

Nitroglycerin was proposed for the treatment of angina pectoris in 1867 by Lauder-Brunton. However, there is still no consensus regarding the mechanism of action of this drug. It is known that nitrites have an effect not only on coronary circulation. They cause a decrease in blood pressure, venous pressure, change the venous blood flow to the heart, minute and stroke volumes, etc. Karpman and M. X. Khody-Zade).
