Abstract

Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by a violation of the metabolism of iron-containing pigments. The body of an adult should contain about 4-5 g of iron. With hemochromatosis, the intensity of iron absorption increases significantly, as a result, its amount in the body increases, sometimes reaching 25-50 g. Excess iron is used to form hemosiderin, which is deposited in the skin and parenchymal organs
