175th anniversary of the Department of Human Anatomy of Kazan Medical Institute
For about a century and a half, on the territory of Kazan University, among its monumental structures, a building with a colonnade stands out for its stately simplicity, on the pediment of which the Latin dictum "Hic locus est, ubi mors gaudet succurrere vitae" is inscribed in golden letters. The rector of the university, H. I. Lobachevsky, who headed the construction committee, reported to the trustee of the Kazan educational district that in this place. ... ". Since 1837, this purpose-built building houses the Department of Human Anatomy, which was transferred to the Medical Institute in 1930.
