Abstract

In the formation and development of the medical faculty of Kazan University in its first twenty years (1814-1833) the prominent role belongs to the German scientist Carl Fuchs. In the charter of 1804, under which Kazan University, and its medical faculty as of 1814, began to function, it was emphasized that "natural Russians" with the necessary knowledge and qualities should be preferred to "foreigners" when transferring vacancies.
