Opening the meeting, the chairman of the section, Prof. V. L. Bogolyubov, announced the upcoming 50th anniversary of the scientific and pedagogical activity of Prof. Vasily Ivanovich Razumovsky, described the highly useful work of Prof. Razumovsky for Russian surgery and offered to send congratulations to the venerable hero of the day. The offer was accepted.
