On the question of indications for antrotomy in acute mastoiditis
IF the operative technique, as a more independent part of the teaching about mastoiditis, has now reached a significant height, then this cannot be said about the indications for mastoiditis surgery, which is very closely dependent on the amount of clinical experience in general and the accuracy of clinical diagnosis in particular. The last word is far from being said here, there is no consensus. To date, there is a sharp contradiction in the views of what should be understood by mastoiditis when operating with one or another form of mastoiditis. Some consider the mastoid process surgery to be a safe intervention, others continue to treat it with great caution, as serious and unsafe for life
