On the use of antigens from sp. pallida cultures for the sero-diagnosis of syphilis
Since the production of pure cultures of sp. pallida, the question arose about the use of these cultures as an antigen in WaR. The possibility of using such an antigen seemed very tempting, since in this case, WaR would methodically fully satisfy the requirements of the Bordet-Gengou complement binding reaction, on the theoretical basis of which the WAR technique was developed by Wassermann, Neisser and Vgisk at the time.
