Clinical observations of the peripheral arterial heart
The dominant teaching of hemodynamics is reduced to how Henle formulated it, that “the heart only moves the blood, and the vessels distribute it”. The main place in the process of blood movement from the point of view of this theory (Landois) is given to the pulsatory activity of the heart. The latter is the central engine, while the vessels help the heart in the movement of blood, since they facilitate its work with their elasticity. But the vessels themselves do not have a living, motor, active force and cannot give such a blood flow.
