Essence of Wassermanna reaction Zilber and Frize (Arch. Wedge, and Expert. Med., 1924, No. 3-4)
Zilber and Frize (Arch. Klin, and Expert. Med., 1924, No. 3-4) experimentally refute the specificity of WR in the sense of Ehrlich’a and defend its chemical-colloidal nature. Since, according to Wassermann, only lipoids can serve as antigens in his reaction, the authors took as antigens substances that have nothing to do with lipoids — paraffin suspension and gelatin.
