To the clinic and therapy of lymphogranulomatosis Paltauf-Sternbergʹa

Abstract

As an independent painful form, lymphogranulomatosis was identified pathologically and histologically in 1898 by Sternberg (1). This disease, still called "Hodgkin's disease" in the English literature, "malignant lymphoma" (Billroth), "malignant granuloma" (Benda) in German, has now a more apt name - "lymphogranulomatosis" (Rar- penheim). The latter determines both the soil and the nature of suffering, since now most authors agree on the understanding of the latter as a chronic inflammatory-hyperplastic disease of the lymphatic apparatus (2-4). All authors also recognize the infectious origin of lymphogranulomatosis.
