On the diagnostic value of the ratio of blood pressure levels in the temporal and brachial arteries in hypertension
As you know, the temporal-brachial index (quotient from dividing the value of the temporal blood pressure by the value of the brachial blood pressure of the corresponding side) is on average 0.5, that is, the temporal blood pressure is normally equal to half of the systolic brachial blood pressure. In hypertension, the temporomandibular index increases and reaches 0.9 and above, while the blood pressure in the brachial and temporal arteries increases by different values.
