Liver function in patients with respiratory tuberculosis
We examined 42 patients (6 women and 36 men) with tuberculosis. The average age was 43.2+1.8 years; bacilliform patients accounted for 45.2%. Infiltrative tuberculosis was diagnosed in 14 patients, focal in 9, disseminated tuberculosis in 4, tuberculoma in 5, pleurisy in 5, fibrous cavernous tuberculosis in 3, and cirrhotic pulmonary tuberculosis in 2. Tuberculostatic therapy was administered at moderate therapeutic dosages. The duration of continuous chemotherapy in most patients ranged from 2 to 4 months.
