First published in 1936, this book is in its fourth edition. As EI Chazov writes in the preface, it has by no means lost its relevance. On the contrary, with the progress of modern technical equipment of medicine, the danger of the doctor's "estrangement" from the patient grows, and this is what R. A. Luria's book warns against. The decision to publish it was made in 1974, when the centenary of the author's birth was celebrated.
