On the activities of I. Ya. Yakovlev in health education
I. Ya. Yakovlev (1841-1930) gave a lot of strength and energy to the development of the Chuvash national culture. He founded the Simbirsk Chuvash school (1868), a teacher's school (1890), opened about 400 primary schools in the Chuvash villages of the Kazan, Simbirsk, Saratov and Samara provinces.
