Encephalitis case
Society of Neuropathologists and Psychiatrists at Kazan State University. Session 27 / XI-29 Dr. A. A. Sarygin. A case of encephalitis (with a demonstration of microscopic preparations). Patient K., 32 years old, a fireman, not burdened by heredity, lues denies that he did not abuse alcohol. In August 1927, he fell ill with an acute infectious disease, accompanied by an increase in temperature, diarrhea and loss of consciousness for several days, after which the patient developed decreased vision, almost complete paralysis of eyeball movements, a wobbly gait, sleep disturbance, pain in the shoulder girdle and legs , tinnitus, mild attacks of dizziness. After 11/2 months, general epileptic seizures appeared, which had not been observed before. In the future, vision deteriorated, ataxia grew.
