To the pathology of the cecum and its process. (Coecum amplius and coecum angustius)
The question of the phylogeny of the appendix and its involution 'has a certain, albeit limited, significance in its pathology. In my monograph: “Appendicitis in its effect on diseases of other abdominal organs,” I, on the basis of a number of data, expressed my request for a view that considers the appendix as a rudimentary organ. Having studied the issue in detail from the comparative anatomical side, I found here a number of facts that support my opinion.
