Experimental whooping cough in monkeys
By injecting chimpanzees through the mouth with unfiltered tracheal exudate of people with whooping cough, the authors caused them to have a condition quite similar to whooping cough: runny nose, paroxysmal cough, lymphocytosis and a positive reaction of complement fixation with the Borde-Zhangu bacillus.
