On providing assistance in acute rectal prolapse in children
In the etiology of acute rectal prolapse in children, various inflammatory bowel diseases play a major role, accompanied by intensified tenesmus and, with a considerable duration, leading to a weakening of both the whole organism and to a weakening of the tone of the anatomical formations of the perineal-anorectal region. The weakening of this tone can be the cause of acute prolapse of the rectum in children who have not suffered from intestinal disorders before - a sudden tension of the abdominal press when coughing or crying is enough.
