Abstract

The article is dedicated to the 125^th anniversary of the foundation of Perm Bacteriological Laboratory of Perm Province Zemstvo (now Perm Scientific Production Association "Biomed"). The bacteriological laboratory is one of the oldest scientific medical centers where vaccines against rabies, diphtheria, scarlet fever and cholera were developed. Perm institute also fought against typhoid fever and smallpox and mastered the production of vaccines against anthrax, which are still in use today.
