The main activity of TECHNOBLOCK (Italy) is the production of refrigeration equipment widely known throughout the world, including in Russia, in monoblock and biblock versions. Like any dynamically developing company, TECHNOBLOCK sets itself promising tasks, the solution of which will allow it to feel confident in the Russian market in the future. We asked the head of the Moscow office, Milko KENDA, to briefly talk about these tasks.

An evaluation of prospects of use of hydrocarbons and other combustible working substances in domestic refrigerating equipment has been carried out. An analysis of energy efficiency of refrigerators in case of transition from Rll to ecologically safe refrigerants is given. The changes that should be introduce! into design and manufacturing technology of domestic refrigerating equipment in case of such a transition are indicated. It is concluded that fulfillment of safety requirements in the designs and manufacturing technologies of refrigerators (freez/ers) is quite feasible.

In 2001, Grasso, a recognized leader in the production of industrial refrigeration equipment, took a decisive step that brought it even closer to the company's regular customers on the Russian market. In Russia, a subsidiary of Grasso was registered - Grasso Refrigeration, LLC.

Many years of experience of Aircool in the field of design, aggregation and installation of refrigeration equipment served as the basis for the creation of a series of compressor units based on semi-hermetic screw compressors from BITZER.

A design and characteristics are presented of a compact plate-fin heat exchanger capable lo work at high pressures. Heat exchangers of such design feature increased strength and can be used in heat pumps and refrigerating machines where ecologically safe carbon dioxide is used as a refrigerant.

In 1999-2000 a major overhaul was carried out with a partial reconstruction of the administrative building of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation (Moscow, B. Cherkassky per., 7).

The wide range of high quality reciprocating compressor packages has now been expanded with the variable speed "Rotatune" series, which was first introduced at the IKK 2001 International Exhibition.

In ECO air coolers, the evaporator is made of copper tubes with aluminum fins pressed onto them, the distance between which depends on the type and model of the evaporator.

The conference took place on October 2-5, 2001 at the Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration. The conference was attended by representatives of research and development organizations, educational institutions, enterprises, companies, firms from Ukraine, Moscow, Russia, and far abroad. The plenary session of the conference, held in the House of Scientists, was opened by the Rector of the State Academy of Arts, Doctor of Engineering, Sciences, prof. V. V. Prigula.
