Carbon dioxide: natural environmentally friendly refrigerant
For the first time, carbon dioxide was obtained in the solid phase in 1834 by the French scientist Tilorier and used as a means for freezing mercury. Prior to this, solid mercury was observed only during severe frost in Irkutsk in 1736.
