Ethical requirements

Open Access refers to making published articles and data immediately, permanently, and freely available online for the public to read, download, and share. Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, as long as the original work is properly cited.

All articles published by Planet are made immediately available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This license permits any user to freely access, download, copy, redistribute, and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s). As the most open license available, CC BY 4.0 is widely recognized as the industry gold standard for open access and is the preferred license endorsed by numerous research funders.

For any article published Open Access, the author(s) retain copyright. Upon acceptance, they grant Higher Education Press an exclusive license to publish and distribute the article, while HEP is identified as the original publisher.
