The First Young Editorial Committee of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine was Held in Tianjin

Young Chinese scientists are expected to better explain the advantages of TCM and produce more advanced studies on TCM, a renowned medical expert said last week.

Zhang Boli, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that because of TCM therapies’ effective role in treating COVID-19 disease amid the pandemic, TCM is gaining wider recognition globally.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine have been used in more than 180 countries and regions across the world, with dozens including such therapies into their own healthcare insurance programs, he added.

Zhang is also the editor-in-chief of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, a journal focusing on latest research and findings in the field of traditional medicine worldwide. He made the remarks during the first meeting of the journal’s young editorial committee, which was held in Tianjin on Saturday.

Zhang hoped that young scientists on the committee will promote healthy development of acupuncture and herbal medicine, propose more cutting-edge projects and step up communication with the global community in the future.
