Acupuncture and herbal medicine have been used in more than 180 countries and regions across the world, with dozens including such therapies into their own healthcare insurance programs, he added.

Zhang is also the editor-in-chief of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, a journal focusing on latest research and findings in the field of traditional medicine worldwide. He made the remarks during the first meeting of the journal’s young editorial committee, which was held in Tianjin on Saturday.
