It is considered that the risk of congenital cytomegalovirus infection does not exceed 2-5% if it reactivates in pregnancy. According to some authors up to 75% of children born with this disease were infected as the result of reactivation of latent infection in the mother. The clinical case illustrates this situation. Attention is paid to the experts need to examine all the available information about the risk of congenital infection in pregnant women and newborns.

Literature review and own data are given on use of L-carnitine in patients with various forms of ischemic heart disease, pulmonary embolism and dilated cardiomyopathy. Pilot clinical study of infusion form of L-carnitine had shown its positive dose-dependent inotropic effect in 33 patients with acute myocardial infarction and low left ventricular ejection fraction (<40%), compared with similar 24 patients, who haven't get any metabolic drugs
