The data indicative of enhanced effectiveness of the pulsed and rhythmic action of physical factors in comparison with the continuous one are presented. These factors playing the role of active adaptogens are shown to perform the regulatory function in a healthy body and in a variety of pathological conditions. The epiphysis and its hormone, i.e. melatonin, appear to be closely involved in the realization of adaptive changes induced by bioresonance physiotherapeutic techniques. A concrete scheme of this process is presented.

The objective of the present work was to evaluate the vegetative regulation in the women presenting with tubular-peritoneal infertility following endoscopic interventions and its modification under the influence of plasmapheresis and ozonotherapy. The secondary objective was to estimate the efficacy of the application of medical ozone in comparison with traditional antibacterial therapy. Vegetative homeostasis was assessed in 62 patients (allocated to 3 groups) with the use of the cardiointervalographic analysis, ventilation test, and mathematical analysis of the variability of cardiac rhythms as described by R.M. Baevsky. It was shown that the application of plasmapheresis in combination with ozonotherapy or medical ozone alone greatly promoted the improvement of the vegetative balance of the regulatory systems in the majority of the patients (95.5% and 73%) compared with the analogous parameter in the patients given only antibacterial therapy (52%). The results of the study give reason to recommend the use of the described approaches in the framework of a program for the rehabilitation of neurovegetative regulation in women suffering tubular-peritoneal infertility following plastic and reconstructive surgery.

This study was designed to estimate the effectiveness of UHF-IR therapy in combination with nitric-silica low-radon mineral water used for the treatment of knee osteoarthrosis based at a spa and resort facility. It included 134 patients at the age from 38 to 56 years presenting with stage I-III knee osteoarthrosis. The patients of the main group were treated with the use of conservative combined therapy, nitric-silica low-radon mineral water baths, massage, therapeutic exercises, and UHF-IR irradiation. It was shown UHF therapy and infrared irradiation in combination with nitric-silica low-radon baths (balneotherapy) reduced the severity of articular syndrome, improved the characteristics of peripheral hemodynamics, and had beneficial effect on the quality of life as reflected in the positive dynamics of subjective and objective parameters. Catamnestic studies have demonstrated that the treatment of knee osteoarthrosis based at a spa and resort facility with the use of UHF-IR therapy and nitric-silica low-radon mineral water baths provides a most efficacious approach to the management of this pathology.

The present study included 220 patients aged from 35 to 75 years with the verified diagnosis of moderate and severe chronic generalized periodontitis. It was shown that fluctuophoresis had a positive influence on the clinical and rheographic characteristics and improved the parameters of laser Doppler flowmetry due to the beneficial effect on microcirculation. A course of mildronate fluctuophoresis promoted the improvement of myogenic regulation and nivalin fluctuophoresis normalized neurogenic regulation of the vascular tone. Actovegin fluctuophoresis proved to be sufficiently efficacious as a method for the treatment of the patients with both moderate and severe chronic generalized periodontitis in the absence of the marked prevalence of either myogenic or neurogenic regulation.

A scientifically-substantiated rationale is provided for the combined application of ultrasound therapy and endonasal electrophoresis of the neuropeptide preparation cortexin for the treatment of the patients presenting with open-angle glaucoma (OAG). A total of 121 patients with stage I-III OAG and normalized intraocular pressure were available for the observation. They were allocated to 4 groups regardless of the therapeutic modality chosen for the treatment. The patients of the main study group underwent continuous (without breaks) ultrasonic irradiation of the eyeball plus endonasal cortexin electrophoresis. In the first reference group only endonasal cortexin electrophoresis was applied, the patients of the second reference group were given intramuscular injections of cortexin, those of the control group received standard therapy with neuro- and angioprotectors. This basal therapy was also provided to the patients of all the rest groups. Positive dynamics of clinical, functional, perimetric, and electrophysiological characteristics was documented in the main study group and in the reference groups. The beneficial effects of continuous ultrasonic irradiation combined with endonasal cortexin electrophoresis were more pronounced that those of other therapeutic modalities both in the immediate post-treatment period and during the long-term follow-up.

The objective of the present study was to estimate the effectiveness of the application of neuroprotective and antioxidative preparation semax for the rehabilitative treatment of the patients presenting with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy. The study included 14 patients (228 eyes) at the age between 42 and 70 years with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy that developed as a complicvation of type 2 diabetes mellitus. They were divided into 3 groups depending on the therapeutic modality. In the main group, standard therapy was supplemented by endonasal electrophoresis of 0.1% semax. The patients of the reference group were treated by intranasal instillation of semax. Control patients were given standard therapy alone (doxi-chem). The treatment of the patients of the main study and reference groups resulted in significant positive dynamics of the functional parameters being measured (by visometric, perimetric, and electrophysiological techniques). These changes in the main study group were more pronounced and persisted longer (up to 12 months) than in the two others. The results of the study give reason to recommend the method of endonasal electrophoresis of semax for the combined rehabilitative treatment of the patients with diabetes mellitus and early stages of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
