There is a review of pediculicidal medications used for pediculosis treatment and data on drug resistance in lice. The authors have closely analyzed a spectrum of active compounds of medications used for pediculosis capitis since 1960s. As a result it is noted that about 80% of modern pediculicidal medications approved in Russia contain pyrethroids. In relation to recent problem of lice resistance to permethrin it is recommended to use alternative pediculicidal medications with other mechanisms of action.

Children living in a board school in the Oryol Region were examined by medical team to reveal prevalence and pattern of distribution of dermatological disorders. Dermatoses were diagnosed with a high prevalence of 95.9%. Two or more skin diseases were found in 51.1% of cases. Infectious and noninfectious dermatological diseases were almost equally prevalent, 48.2% and 51.8% respectively. Among infectious dermatoses mycoses corresponded more than 1/3, viral dermatoses -- about 1/3, pyodermia -- about 1/4. Scabies was diagnosed in 6 (6.7%) of adolescents of 16--18 years old. The epidemiological analysis has revealed primary pseudoirradiate nidus of infestation, i.e. all the patients were infected beyond the foster children group. True irradiation started in the board school, however not due to co-residence in the same living room, but as a result of a close contact during wrestling classes.

The authors have reviewed national and foreign publications (34 references) on a problem of association of circumscribed scleroderma with autoimmune diseases and autoantibodies. The original study was based on examination of 156 patients with different types of circumscribed scleroderma. The last was associated with autoimmune diseases and autoantibodies spectrum in 20 patients. Those patients are proposed to be included in a risk group of disease transformation into systemic scleroderma.

Authors present the most interesting literature data related to epidemiology, pathogenesis, classification, diagnostics, differential diagnosis and treatment of fungal intertrigo. Results of the study including 40 patients with mycosis of skin folds are also described. A complex clinical and laboratory assessment of effectiveness of Pimafucort créme was conducted in these patients. The results allow to conclude that treatment of different forms of intertriginous mycoses with this medication is moderately effective and highly safe. Pimafucort créme can be recommended for extensive use in in-patient and out-patient departments.
