The paper presents the comparative results of photodynamic therapy (PDT) in 60 patients with basal-cell carcinoma (BCC) depending on the route of administration with the photosensitizer (PS) Photoditasine. The efficiency of BCC treatment has been found to depend on the route of administration of the PS and to yield the best results when locally used. It is noted that PDT with the intrafocal administration of the PS Photoditasine leads to the recovery of stages T1 and T2 nodular BCC in 100% of cases; moreover, it induces no systemic adverse reactions, requires no light regimen observance, significantly reduces the time of wound healing, and provides excellent and good cosmetic results significantly more frequently.

The epidemiological and clinicomorphological features of basal-cell carcinoma (BCC) of the skin were studied in the town of Perm. BCC constituted 94.5% of the epidermal malignancies. BCC morbidity rates were stably high with an average annual rate of 38.18 ± 0.9 per 100,000 population. There was a significant preponderance of women (66.8%) among the patients with BCC. The clinicomorphological features of BCC were character by a higher proportion of ulcerative varieties of the tumor (50%) of complex histological structure and morphea-like structures (18.4%). An immunohistological study revealed a high proliferative index (Ki-67 more than 30% of the expressing nuclei) of the morphea-like type of BCC.

The expression of StAR and peripheral benzodiazepine receptor (PBR) was studied in the skin of patients with melanoma and in those with benign melanocytic nevi. The presence of StAR was first determined in the skin of patients with this abnormality. There was a reduction in the expression of StAR and PBR as compared with the indices of normal epidermis.

The autonomic and hormonal systems were studied in 72 patients with dermatitis seborrhoica (DS); the detected disorders were corrected by transcranial electrostimulation of the brainstem with a Transair-2 apparatus. The findings suggest that this technique shows a high therapeutic effectiveness and a good tolerability in DS.

The authors analyze the structure of sarcoidosis morbidity on the basis of clinicomorphological monitoring of patients with different forms from Moscow and the Moscow region. They consider the specific features of the morpho- and immunogenesis of granulomatous inflammation in sarcoidosis, which result in a significant fibrotic process and evolving cosmetic defects. The clinical efficacy of Egallohit (as cream and gel) has been evaluated in 35 patients with sarcoidosis of the skin. The paper shows the efficacy of the agent and provides evidence that it is expedient to include it into cutaneous sarcoidosis treatment regimens to prevent the fibrotic processes leading to the development of cosmetic defects.

The responsiveness of the lower extremity microcirculatory bed was determined in 62 patients with onychomycosis with comorbidity via duplex scanning of the interphalangeal arteries of the first toe. After load testing, 52 patients were found to have the ultrasound signs of hemodynamic disorders, which were characterized by an increase in the minimal diastolic rate and a reduction in the resistive index.Microcirculatory disorders are common in prolonged fungal infection and generally in the involvement of 2-3 nail plates as the hypertrophic type concurrent with foot mycosis. Addition of angioprotectors to multicomponent therapy yields better results of treatment in a larger number of patients.

The paper discusses the clinical and diagnostic features of primary syphilis with hard chancre being located in the cervix uteri. The authors note that consideration of the clinical features of primary syphiloma, alertness to possible specific lesion of the cervix uteri in syphilis, and, accordingly, timely laboratory testing for syphilis allows diagnostic errors to be avoided.

The data available in the literature suggest that in the past decades visceral involvements in syphilis, which result in death, have become a rarity. The present paper analyzes a clinical case of syphilitic involvement of the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems with a fatal outcome, which was diagnosed postmortem, only at the patient's autopsy.
