The paper deals with the use of refrigerated dehumidifiers for the preparation of sanitary norm of incoming outside air to create an energy-saving air conditioning system for the ice field zone of closed artificial skating-rinks. Three skating-rink operation modes are considered: ice hockey, figure skating and skating of visitors. A drying unit ST 215B is used. The drying process is presented on I-d diagram. Electrical energy costs to be observed for air conditioning system including driers have been calculated; they turned out to be 5-7 times lower than traditional ones depending on the operation mode should be of the skating-rink. With year-round operation of the skating rink, an air cooler is installed before the air drier.
