Dong Ming is a chair professor at Tianjin University (TJU). He is the Recipient of the National Distinguished Young Scientists Fund (Medical Science Division, China) and expert in the National 'Ten Thousand Talents Program'. Dr. Ming received his B.S. and PhD degrees in biomedical engineering at TJU, China, in 1999 and 2004, respectively. He worked as a research associate in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong, from 2002 to 2003 and was a visiting scholar in the Division of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, University of Dundee, U.K., from 2005 to 2006. He joined TJU faculty in the College of Precision Instruments and Optoelectronics Engineering in 2006 and was promoted to full professor of biomedical engineering since 2011. Now he is the Vice President of TJU, executive director of the Medical School of TJU, the Chair of IEEE-EMBS Tianjin Chapter and served as the head of the national Key Research and development program "Intelligent Robots" (China). His major research interests include neural engineering, rehabilitation engineering, sports science, biomedical instrumentation and signal/image processing, especially in brain–computer interface, functional electrical stimulation, and gait analysis. He has been granted more than 100 national invention patents, PCT international patents and soft works. His paper was selected for the British Physical Society IOP Highly Cited Award, JNE Highlight, JNER Highly Accessed, IEEE TBME Cover, etc., and was reported in the special issue of Science and Nature.

Xiaodong Zhang is the chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program and the winner of the National Young Talents Program. Dr. Zhang received his PhD (2012) from Tianjin University. He worked in Institute of Radiation Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, from 2007 to 2013. He conducted postdoctoral research in the research group of Academician Dai Hongjie at Stanford University, from 2013 to 2015. He has been working as a professor at Tianjin University since 2016. Now he is the vice president of the Academy of Medical Engineering and Translational Medicine, Tianjin University. His major research interests include NIR-II imaging and Nano-medicine. He has published more than 100 papers in Nat. Commun., Sci. Adv., Adv. Mater., ACS Nano, Nano Lett., Corrd. Chem. Rev. etc. He is one of Clarivier "Global Highly Cited Researchers" (2021) and Elsevier China Highly Cited Scholar (2020, 2021, 2022). The total citations were more than 12000 times, 1 paper was selected as a hot paper, and 12 papers were highly cited by ESI.
