The 2025 Human Brain Forum was successfully held in Beijing on October 25 (Figure 1). Hosted by the Chinese Society for Anatomy, the forum was co-organized by Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), the National Resource Center for Developmental and Functional Human Brain Tissue, and the Institute of Neuroscience under the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS), with support from the Chinese Brain Bank Consortium and the journal Human Brain. The event attracted over a hundred participants, including experts, scholars, clinicians, and graduate students. Leaders from the National Science and Technology Infrastructure Center also attended the meeting.
The welcoming addresses were delivered by Dr. Bin Peng, Vice President of the PUMC Hospital, and Dr. Xunming Ji, President of CAMS&PUMC. Professor Yi-Cheng Zhu, Director of Neurology at PUMCH, hosted the opening ceremony.
Professor Chao Ma, Vice President and Secretary of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences (CSAS), Director of the National Human Brain Bank for Development and Function, delivered a special report. He highlighted that the national bank has established a collaborative network, implemented standardized procedures, and has collected over 1,000 high-quality human brain tissue samples, providing more than 18,000 services to support major research projects.
The forum then proceeded to the Plenary Lectures session, featuring six presentations by renowned scholars:

•Prof. Xiaoying Tang (Beijing Institute of Technology): “Cutting-Edge Medical Imaging Technology & Its Applications in Brain Science”
•A/Prof. Liping Fu (China-Japan Friendship Hospital): “A Brief Discussion on the Application Progress of Positron Molecular Probes in Neurodegenerative Diseases”
•Prof. Qiong Liu (Fudan University): “Transcriptomics of Hippocampal Aging Identifies Neuronal and Glial Subtypes Linked to Cognitive Resilience in Long-Lifespan Individuals”
•A/Prof. Hao Wang (University of Science and Technology of China): “Whole-brain mesoscopic mapping of single-neuron projection and transcription: from mouse to human”
•Prof. Yi-Cheng Zhu (PUMCH): “New Insights into Cerebral Venular Disease”
These lectures prompted active discussions and were chaired by leading professors.
Centered on the theme “To Probe, Protect & Promote the Human Brain,” the forum facilitated in-depth exchanges on brain bank development, research frontiers, and clinical advances. It served as a platform to discuss innovative strategies and foster interdisciplinary collaboration in brain science.
