Aims & scope

Future Postharvest and Food is the official journal of the International Association of Dietetic Nutrition and Safety (IADNS).

Future Postharvest and Food publishes original research articles, comprehensive reviews, mini review, highlights, news, short reports, perspectives and correspondences on the chemistry, biology, safety and nutrition of both fresh and processed horticultural food resources including fruit, vegetables, berries, flowers, seeds, edible fungi, tea, spices, forages, nuts, and oil-bearing crops, sea food, but excluding cereals and grains. The submitted papers will be evaluated based on scientific originality and contribution to the field, quality and subject matter. It is a journal policy to publish special issues on topical and emergent subjects of future postharvest and food.

Topics featured in Future Postharvest and Food includes, but not limits to the following:

  1. The state-of-the-art technologies in harvesting, handling, and storage of horticultural food resources, including active packaging, edible coatings, application of nanotechnology.
  2. The processing and quality evaluation methods throughout the supply chain of horticultural food products focusing novel technologies and mechanisms.                   
  3. Microrisk assessments related to postharvest processing.
  4. Effect of processing technologies on quality and safety of horticultural food products. 
  5. Valorization of horticultural food resources waste.
  6. Benefits of bioactive components from horticultural food resources.
  7. Packaging and transportation technologies.
  8. Novel food processing technologies applied to improve nutrition of horticultural food products.
