Prof. Qingming Luo Elected OSA Fellow

The Optical Society (OSA) announced that its Board of Directors had elected Prof. Qingming Luo (Associate editor-in-chief of Frontiers of Optoelectronics) as Fellow of the society at its October 20th meeting in Tucson, Arizona.
   Prof. Qingming Luo is being recognized for pioneering contribution in optical neuroimaging and applications, including functional imaging of human brain activity, laser speckle imaging of cerebral blood flow and blood vessels, and mapping brain-wide neuronal networks. 
   Prof. Qingming Luo had been elected as the SPIE Fellow in 2007 and the IET Fellow in 2012.
   Uniting more than 180,000 professionals from 175 countries, OSA brings together the global optics community through its programs and initiatives. Since 1916, OSA has worked to advance the common interests of the field, providing educational resources to the scientists, engineers and business leaders who work in the field by promoting the science of light and the advanced technologies made possible by optics and photonics. The OSA Fellow is an honor reserved for no more than 10% of the total OSA members who have made significant contributions to the advancement of optics. OSA selects about 60 members around the world every year based on strict procedures.
