Congratulations to Prof. Jiuhui Qu, Associate Editor-in-Chief of FESE, elected to the 
US National Academy of Engineering! 


Washington, DC, February 7, 2019, the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE) announced the newly elected class of NAE. Professor Jiuhui Qu, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was elected to be one of the new 18 foreign members of NAE. Election to the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer, and Professor Jiuhui Qu was elected for  the development of water treatment technology and leadership improving water quality in China.

Professor Jiuhui Qu, Distinguished Professor of School of Environment, Tsinghua University, and professor of Research Center for Eco-environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has devoted to researches on development of water treatment technology for decades after obtaining his PhD degree from Harbin University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, China. He played a leading role in improving water quality in China. Due to his outstanding scientific contributions, he was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) in 2009. He was awarded the National Award for Progress in Science and Technology 2 times, the National Technological Invention Award once; and he also won the Prize for Science and Technology Progress (Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation) in 2009.

Professor Jiuhui Qu is the Associate Editors-in-Chief of Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering (FESE). As an international journal for researchers interested in a wide range of environmental disciplines, FESE is aiming at advancing and disseminating knowledge in all main branches of environmental science and engineering. The election of Professor Jiuhui Qu to NAE inspires all the editorial board members and managers of FESE, and would lead it to an anticipated higher level.
