Special issue on Computational Modeling of Multi-field problems

The international journal Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering (FSCE), the leading academic journal in the area of structural and civil engineering organized by Tongji University, supervised by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and jointly published by Higher Education Press and Springer quarterly per year, is planning to publish a special issue on Computational Modeling of Multifield problems.

Multi-field problems in Engineering are of major importance. Classical examples include fluid-structure interaction problems which are of high interest in Civil Engineering as well as Environmental Engineering, thermo-mechanical problems, chemo-mechanical applications as in the design of concrete materials and also many problems in geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics involve the interaction of several fields. Computational modeling in order to predict the response of Engineering materials and structures gain more and more importance. This special issues welcomes contributions on computational modeling of multifield problems. Articles focusing on novel computational methods such as finite element methods, meshfree methods, extended finite element methods, boundary element methods, discrete elements, isogeometric analysis formulations, adaptive methods, multiscale methods, reduced order models or methods for uncertainty quantification and stochastic analysis as well as articles on modeling the physics and constitutive modeling are welcome.

FSCE is a rigorously peer-reviewed research journal devoted to the publication of original research papers reflecting significant and pioneering achievements in the field of structural and civil engineering. Please inform your regional Guest Editor (GE) via email about your intention as soon as possible and submit a manuscript for possible publication in the special issue via the online paper submission system by July 31, 2017 with a soft copy to the Editors. Announcement of accepted contributed papers will be made in September 30, 2017. November 30, 2017 is the last day to submit revised papers.
