Description
Frontiers of Engineering Management is a research journal sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, administered jointly by Tsinghua University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and published by Higher Education Press, China.  The journal is international in its scope and mission.  It is published quarterly in English in both print and online versions. Frontiers of Engineering Management provides a high-quality international platform for academic researchers, industry professionals and other constituent communities in the broad field of engineering management to impart and share the latest research results and knowledge in the form of research articles, reviews, letters and comments.
Frontiers of Engineering Management strives to promote the advancement of the science of engineering management, the improvement of the practice of engineering management, and the preparation of researchers and practitioners to address contemporary and future challenges in engineering management. The topics covered by the journal include general, specialty and cross-disciplinary studies in engineering management, both theoretical and applied, and studies related to engineering management education worldwide.

Aims and scope
Frontiers of Engineering Management announces a forthcoming issue on “Operations Analytics and Optimization for Manufacturing, Logistics and Energy Systems”, targeting at how to utilize analytics and optimization technology to overcome critical management challenges in industries. Focusing on solving common and urgent issues such as high energy consumption, high production cost, low utilization rate of resources and heavy environmental pollution, which are commonly faced by typical industries such as petrochemical, steel & nonferrous metals, energy & power and resources & logistics systems, this special issue mainly explores how to conduct accurate descriptive, diagnosis and forecast of the production and logistics process through data analytics by employing the cyber-physics system (CPS) and sensor network with the purpose of optimizing the decision-making of production planning, scheduling, operation and control and realizing smart industry.
In order to boost the development of project management and the progress of engineering management, this special issue aims to cover the innovative research of theories and methods of operations analytics; optimization theories and methods of production planning, scheduling,  operation and control for manufacturing, logistics and energy systems; and engineering applications focusing on operations analytics and optimization.
Topics to be covered include (but are not limited to) the following:
   ●  Planning and Scheduling for Manufacturing, Energy and Logistics Systems
   ●  Process Optimization and Control for Smart Industry
   ●  Management, Monitoring and Traceability for Environment and Security Systems
   ●  Data Analytics, Optimization and Control for Industrial Cyber-physics System
   ●  Intelligent Applications for Petroleum & Chemical, Steel & Nonferrous-metals, Energy & Power and Resources & Logistics Systems
