Background
Frontiers of Engineering Management is an international research journal sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It is published quarterly in English in both print and online versions. Frontiers of Engineering Management provides a high-quality international platform for academic researchers, industry professionals and other constituent communities in the broad field of engineering management to impart and share the latest research results and knowledge in the form of research articles, reviews, comments and super engineering.
Aims and Scope
With large-scale application of electronic devices with high failure rate, reliability was addressed as an engineering issue for the first time in the 1950s and has rapidly evolved into an engineering discipline. Nowadays, reliability is moving towards interdisciplinary research with ever-increasing connotations for full life-cycle system management, including system design, analysis, model, test, operation and optimization.
Meanwhile, complex systems, such as transportation system, power system, communication system and other critical infrastructure systems, have posed a big challenge, which attracts great attention both in theory and application. Characterized by nonlinear interaction, emergent response, and high dimensional coupling, the complex systems are confronted with extremely high uncertainty and vulnerability. Therefore, failure of these complex systems might cause dramatic impact, leading to huge losses of life and property. All these realities put forward more urgent requirements for the fundamental theory and specific application of reliability management of complex systems.
This special issue aims to collect research articles or reviews on reliability management of various complex engineering systems, including different aspects of framework, theory, technology and method in the management process for improving the system reliability.

All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the journal. Papers will be selected for publication following the outcome of the peer review process and subsequent decisions of the Guest Editors and the Editor-in-Chief.
