Description
Frontiers of Engineering Management is a research journal sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, administered jointly by Tsinghua University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and published by Higher Education Press, China. The journal is international in its scope and mission. It is published quarterly in English in both print and online versions. Frontiers of Engineering Management provides a high-quality international platform for academic researchers, industry professionals and other constituent communities in the broad field of engineering management to impart and share the latest research results and knowledge in the form of research articles, reviews, letters and comments.
Frontiers of Engineering Management strives to promote the advancement of the science of engineering management, the improvement of the practice of engineering management, and the preparation of researchers and practitioners to address contemporary and future challenges in engineering management. The topics covered by the journal include general, specialty and cross-disciplinary studies in engineering management, both theoretical and applied, and studies related to engineering management education worldwide.

Aims and scope
Frontiers of Engineering Management announces the forthcoming special issue on “Infrastructure Mega-Project Management”.  Infrastructure mega-projects are large-scale engineering facilities with significant impact on national policies, economies and societies, on scientific and technological development, environmental protection, and on public health and security. Recent examples from China include the Three Gorges Dam project, the West-East Natural Gas Transmission project, and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge project.
Infrastructure projects share several prominent characteristics such as their large scale, broad and diverse impacts, and extensive application of new technologies - all resulting in high complexity and lasting influence. There is a need to improve our level of understanding of the exceedingly complex nature of engineering mega-projects that often lead to large cost overruns, grossly delayed schedules and completion times, to create and promote the use of better decision-making tools and policies related to such projects, to enhance effectiveness of organizations involved in all aspects of mega-project delivery, to facilitate project controls and coordination among multiple parties involved, and to enhance sustainable development through better definition of societal responsibilities of various project stakeholders.
To facilitate the development of new approaches, better techniques and tools for mega-project management and the resulting progress of engineering project industry, this issue aims to cover new theories, methods, tools and applications related to infrastructure mega-projects and their management.
Topics to be covered include (but are not limited to) the following:
      ●  Basic theories of infrastructure mega-projects
      ●  Research and applications of innovative decision-making methods and tools for
  infrastructure mega-projects
      ●  Organizational behavior and related patterns in infrastructure mega-projects
      ●  Onsite coordination and control of infrastructure mega-projects
      ●  Social responsibility, industrial competitiveness and sustainable development issues in
  infrastructure mega-projects
